Will it be a Happy New Year for you? 2020 is the last year of the 21st Century of the 3rd millennium. Are you making a resolution? I’m not. However, I will make a list New Year’s Eve of what I wish for in this last year of the 21st Century.
Music wise, I’m playing with a small group which are becoming fast friends and looking forward to more gigs next year. I plan on going to several dulcimer events and hope one Ukulele festival. I want my music to expand as much as possible and that only happens when you do attend events and play with others. I’ve heard time and again people professing to play better at home than with a group. This is only because the more you play with others the better you get at it! It is very rewarding to really make music with others and for me it makes me happy!
Now that I have taken over the beginner class after our GPDA meetings I really hope to capture some of the newbies that visit us and inspire them to continue coming. Our club has so much to offer! I am looking forward to serving all of you as VP and have lot’s to learn, but I feel the past and current presidents will guide me along the way.
So my list for 2020 has been started! Playing more with others, reaching out to new folks that visit our club, and serving all of you as best I can. That’s a great start I think. Hope all of you write out your list and it is true, what you imagine can really come true.
May all of you have a Blessed New Year and keep on strumming!!
