Past Events

Thanks to the generosity of Heartland Friends Meeting for the use of their beautiful space, Great Plains Dulcimer Alliance hosted several workshops taught by Kara Barnard and Steve Eulberg for mountain dulcimer, hammered dulcimer, guitar, and all acoustic instruments for levels ranging from beginner to advanced. The workshops were followed by a potluck and a concert featuring Kara Barnard, Steve Eulberg, and Erin Mae, three professional dulcimer players who tour internationally to teach and perform. This concert brought the three of them together along with GPDA and the Heartland Friends community to share traditional and original music.

Three of our GPDA members (each current or former music educators) visited OK Elementary in Wichita, KS to give the 5th grade students the opportunity to experiment with folk instruments in a controlled environment. These GPDA members provided their skills, time, and knowledge to assist the students at OK Elementary as they interacted with each instrument.
